From the diary of the originator:
After basking in the euphoria of those productions, he knew that he could never quite get rid of the feeling and decided he wanted to stage more plays but with no experience and knowledge of how to either write one or stage one, he hoped and prayed that there will be other productions he will take part in.
Anti-Slavery Foundation, etc., just to mention a few. Staged to a sold
out audience of over eight hundred people, Nana was written by Gbadero
and Ifunnaya Ifeacho a fellow writer. Nana was also directed by
Zera’s vision is simply to tell untold stories in magnificent ways and long term, hopes to stage productions in London and various cities all over
Behind the scenes, working tirelessly is the Zera family ensuring that the excellence of Zera Productions is never compromised.
Meet the Family
GBADERO LAHANMI (DIRECTOR )
Gbadero Lahanmi is a critically acclaimed playwright with three sell out theatre productions and a motion picture under his belt. Working day to day as a business analyst, Gbadero had previously been engaged in other productions as an actor but realised he wanted more. Putting on a production of his own gave him the ability to tell the stories that were important to him and could touch others with similar experiences.
In 2010, with little more than bags of enthusiasm and a skeleton crew, Gbadero put on his first production, One Last Cry. Since then, he has not looked back, continuing to use his talents to tell societies’ untold stories. Gbadero directs, produces, writes and often stars in his productions, enjoying the challenges of being involved in all aspects of the stage
REMI AKINBOLU (PRODUCER )
Remi Akinbolu is a financial analyst by day but works as Zera’s producer and accounts manager by night. Remi joined the Zera family in 2011 when she bumped into Gbadero on the Jubilee line on the way to a Fela production at the South Bank Centre. A chance encounter on the tube led to a new working relationship and before Remi knew it, she was on board.
Having worked on 42 Weeks and Nana across different areas, including marketing and even acting, Remi found that she has faced unknown territory – and conquered!
ADEYINKA KOLAWOLE-MORADEYO (ASSISTANT DIRECTOR )
Adeyinka Kolawole-Moradeyo is the team’s assistant director. She shares a flat with another team member, Remi Akinbolu and was on the same fated tube ride that crossed their paths with Gbadero’s. Yinka has always loved film and the theatre and is very passionate about actors making her believe what they are portraying.
Following a conversation, Yinka found herself assisting the cast in learning lines and understanding their roles and providing some direction. The rest, as they say, is history. Being a part of Zera has been a huge learning curve for Yinka but she’s enjoyed being a part of productions that cover issues that people believe don’t exist anymore.
ADENIKE KOLAWOLE-MORADEYO (STAGE MANAGER)
Adenike Kolawole-Moradeyo, with a masters in Events Management, masses of creativity and a love for the theatre and opera made Nike an obvious choice for our stage manager. Nike joined the Zera family in 2010 during 42 Weeks. With both her sisters involved, Nike naturally found herself at rehearsals and couldn’t help taking pictures. Her natural eye led to Nike starting out as production assistant but progressing to managing all things to do with the set.
Nike calls her role a growth process. “There’s no way to fully explain the process of watching something come to life, going from the pages of the script to the actual day.”
CHIEBONAM ‘BEBE’ OJUKWU (THEATRE MANAGER )
Chiebonam Ojukwu has been with Zera Productions since the very beginning. Bebe’s ambitions are to become a successful published author of Christian novels, plays, scripts and expressing her gifting and talents through the written word. When Bebe heard there was an opportunity to join a creative team, she headed in Gbadero’s direction and they’ve been working together ever since. Bebe has many roles within Zera. As well as being the team’s theatre manager, she is also assistant director and editor.
IFUANAYA IFEACHO (MARKETING MANAGER)
Ifunanya Ifeacho joined the team when she began working on the script for Nana with Gbadero in 2011. Ifu and Gbadero started working together when he asked her for a meeting but refused to say what about. Intrigued, she turned up and after half an hour, became the newest member of the Zera family.
Ifu loves being a part of Zera Productions, there’s never a dull or quiet moment and the feeling of camaraderie among the cast and crew is pretty awesome.
